PROCAREER
Grow with the industry’s best
Experience a team like no other – you’ll build a professional network, and your personal one too. A career with Probuild means you will learn from the industry’s most experienced people and tap into the know-how of one of Australia’s largest construction companies. We believe in developing our people because if you’re growing, that means we’re growing.
Meet Kirsty. Kirsty’s experience at Probuild is beyond expectation.
When she joined Probuild as a Project Coordinator in 2013 she was keen to learn all there is to know about the building construction industry and was placed on the RIVA Apartments project in Victoria. RIVA was a smaller project, which meant she could experience every aspect of project life, from the development of the structure through to final completion.
The chance to then work as a Design Manager on Eporo apartments as well as being involved with the bid team for Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre expanded Kirsty’s skillsets. Working next on the ABC Project, Victoria, was a natural progression. As Assistant Project Manager she increased her responsibilities and client interaction. She was used to the ‘building’ focus of the project, and this role exposed her to the ‘people’ aspects of the job. Kirsty’s leadership qualities were recognised on the ABC Project with her appointment as Project Manager.
Today Kirsty works in Western Australia as one of the Project Managers on the Towers and Ritz Carlton at Elizabeth Quay, which is a significant project with many moving parts. She says it’s not just the challenging projects that have helped her grow at Probuild, but also the leaders who have taken the time to mentor and nurture aspiring builders like herself — so they can become the company’s future leaders.
In 2018 Kirsty was selected for Probuild’s leadership program, The Project Leaders Development Program. ‘The tools have helped me work on the different aspects of delivery and how to work with different personality types in order to achieve great results’, she said.
“I have worked with a broad variety of people who are all passionate about what they do,” Kirsty said.
“The opportunities that I have had at Probuild have allowed me to set goals and achieve them – I am always up for a challenge and there are always challenging projects for me to work on.
“When I look at my role now, compared to what I was doing only five years ago, I can see how much I have grown professionally and as a person.” she said.
